The Final Interview for International Students 2024 Batch 8 (Last Batch), Total Applicants Reach 118
Salatiga (August 9, 2024) — The International Cooperation Center of LP2M UIN Salatiga has conducted the final round of interviews for this year’s international student applicants. Marisa Fran Lina, M.Pd., Head of the International Cooperation Center, reported, “Approximately 118 international students have applied to our university, UIN Salatiga. Frankly, we have only been able to contact just over half of them because, as per the leadership’s instructions, we can only accept 36 international students with a scholarship scheme of 5 students per country. The remaining applicants will be advised to reapply next year. We plan to open the application process again around early February 2025.”
This round of interviews included candidates from West African countries such as Ghana, Nigeria, and Gambia. They were fluent in English and expressed interest in studying Arabic Education and Islamic Broadcasting Communication at UIN Salatiga. They also showed great enthusiasm for studying within a Muslim community in Indonesia.
Additionally, a school principal from Pakistan expressed interest in pursuing a PhD at UIN Salatiga. Some candidates are willing to study at UIN Salatiga even without the fully-funded scholarship scheme. The interview also included students from Yemen, where there is considerable interest, particularly in IT studies at UIN Salatiga. These students are generally Quran memorizers, academically gifted, and highly enthusiastic about studying at UIN Salatiga. (NR, ed. MFL)
