International Cooperation Centre Audience with Foreign Student Candidate of Ma’ahad Tahfidz Al Qur’an Mother Al Jazari Malaysia

On July 1, 2024, the LP2M UIN Salatiga International Cooperation Centre (PKSI) held a meeting with Ma’ahad Tahfidz Al Qur’an Ibnu Al Jazari Malaysia. Facilitated by Sherazz Management (SM) from Malaysia, the meeting was conducted via Google Meet. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of LP2M, Mr. Hammam, Ph.D., the Head of International Cooperation Centre, Mrs. Marisa Fran Lina, M.P.D., Arabic Language Lecturer and University of Malaya alumna, Rizki Parahita, M.Ed. From SM, Mr. Abdullah led the meeting, along with representatives from Ma’ahad Tahfidz Al Qur’an Ibnu Al Jazari Malaysia.

The core of the meeting focused on Ma’ahad Tahfidz Al Qur’an. The representative from Al Jazari Malaysia inquired about the application process for scholarships for students who have tahfidz skills and additional qualifications, the registration system, and the steps involved in the application process.

From UIN Salatiga, the Head of PKSI mentioned, regarding the application for scholarships, “Every student who has memorized 10 juz will be given special consideration. Even if their academic performance is weak, they can still be admitted and receive scholarships, but they will be placed in the Study Program of the Science of the Qur’an and Tafsir at the Faculty of Ushuluddin.”

Regarding the enrollment deadline, Mrs. Marisa also added, “The deadline is in mid-August, and students must be on campus by then. Enrollment is only once a year.”

Also related to the application process, Mrs. Marisa added, “The application process can be done through a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) for a group of 6–8 students. Applications can be submitted this month and next month, along with those from other countries. There will be interviews to assess talent, interests, readiness, and student motivation as a cross-check. Students must first enroll on campus and can then receive the scholarship in the second semester.”

Ma’ahad Tahfidz Al Qur’an, through its representative from Al Jazari, has prepared the budget for the candidate students and has also arranged visas, accommodations, and other necessities for the students for a period of 3 months.
