International Students Community Engagement (ISComE) Learns How to Make Batik Gemawang and Coffee at Cafe Banaran 9

On Friday, July 20, 2024, the ISComE delegation learned how to create Batik Gemawang and make coffee at Cafe Banaran 9. At 8:00 AM, the group departed from their hotel to Batik Gemawang, arriving at 9:00 AM. The ISComE delegation arrived with enthusiasm to practice batik-making, an experience that was new for them. They were warmly welcomed by the Head of the Semarang Regency Tourism Office. The activities at Batik Gemawang continued until just before Friday prayers, and the ISComE participants proudly documented their creations.

After Friday prayers, the agenda continued with a Barista Class at Café Banaran. As millennials, the ISComE participants were familiar with the role of a barista, but this was their first hands-on experience making coffee. The group was very excited to participate in the Barista Class, and the results of their coffee-making were impressively beautiful and intriguing.

In the afternoon, a closing ceremony was held where all ISComE participants showcased their best performances. ISComE 2024 concluded successfully and smoothly. We hope that future editions of ISComE will be even more festive and involve more participants. We extend our gratitude to everyone who helped make ISComE 2024 a success.
