The first day visit is to the Malaysian Education Foundation (YPM), which is an official institution under the Ministry of Education of Malaysia responsible for helping unlucky students who pursue their studies both at home and abroad. Mrs. Farahwahidah, the representative of the YPM, welcomed the arrival of the UIN Salatiga delegation very kindly. She stated that the offer given by UIN Salatiga would greatly help Malaysian students who want to continue their education at the university level.

Prof. Dr. Muh. Saerozi, M.Ag., Deputy Rector 1 says “UIN Salatiga is ready to provide the best education for foreign students who want to continue their studies at UIN Salatiga. Currently, UIN Salatiga has 32 study programs for S1 (Undergraduate Program), S2 (Master Program), and S3 (Doctorate Program).” Thus, the candidate foreign students can choose a study program according to the field they want to. Furthermore, representatives of UIN Salatiga met students from the Tahfiz Alfalah Integration Academy (AITAF) in Selangor to promote the study program and offer scholarships to continue education at UIN Salatiga. Students at this school take a special tahfidz program to memorize 30 Juz before they take the Malaysian Teaching Certificate exam (SPM). After taking these SPM exams, they are allowed to continue their education at the next level. In the discussion session, Prof. Dr. Saerozi, M. Ag, informed us that UIN Salatiga is committed to provide five full-funded scholarships for them. The enthusiasm of the students is they ask during the question-and-answer sessions, ranging from the curriculum offered, the conditions of environment, and the facilities available at UIN Salatiga.

Promotion of UIN Salatiga in Malaysia has also begun through a network of alumni of UIN Salatiga based in Malaysia. One of them is Dr. Ahmad Zuhairi, who currently lives in Selangor, Malaysia. He, along with Sheeraz Management, will help UIN Salatiga introduce this university among students through various platforms, such as social media and so on.

The arrival of UIN Salatiga this time also wants to establish cooperation with various renowned universities in Malaysia, one of which is the University of Kuala Lumpur (UniKL). The campus is one of the leading private campuses in technology. Currently, UIN Salatiga is developing its new study program in Information Technology, which has just opened in 2023. On this occasion, Ms. Aruna, who is the head of the UniKL Cooperation team, welcomed this cooperation plan. This collaboration can be beneficial to both students and lecturers who want to collaborate for research, official visits, or take short courses to explore the field of technology.

The visit ended with discussions with Sheeraz Management, who will be UIN Salatiga’s partner in promoting this campus in Malaysia, in collaboration with YPM as well as the UIN Salatiga alumni network in abroad. Hopefully, the program will attract interest from prospective international students to study at one of the leading Islamic universities in Indonesia, namely Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Salatiga.
