UIN Salatiga has succeeded in being ranked the eighth best campus in the Webometrics version of the 2022 State Islamic Religious College environment. This position also makes UIN Salatiga the fourth best UIN in Indonesia.
The Webometrics Ranking of World Universities is a ranking system initiated by the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) which is the largest public research body in Spain and is attended by more than 31,000 universities from 200 countries around the world.
Webometrics Ranking aims to promote website publications, encourage Open Access initiatives, and electronic access to scientific publications. The Webometrics Ranking has a wider scope than other ranking systems. The ranking created by Webometrics does not only focus on research results but also on other indicators that can better describe the global quality of researchers and their institutions.
UIN Salatiga received an impact score of 3675, an openness score (number of citations from the Top 210 researchers) of 3528, and an excellent score (number of scientific works included in the Top 10% of Scientific Works Most Cited from 27 disciplines) of 7190. Webometrics uses Google Scolar as a source for calculating openness points and Scimago as a source for calculating excellent points.
Moreover, one of our journals, Indonesian Journal of Islam and Muslim Societies (IJIMS) has the perspectives of humanities and social sciences. This journal succeeded in becoming the Best Journal Ranked 1st in Asia in the Religious Studies category by the Scimago Journal Rank.
